According to information that appeared on слідство.інфо, Oleksandr Dubinsky, former presenter of the 1+1 TV channel and a Deputy of Verkhovna Rada (Servant of the People) applied for Romanian citizenship.
According to the source, he used a simplified procedure that allows him to obtain citizenship more quickly, if he will proof his Romanian roots.
It is unknown at this time whether the Deputy received a Romanian passport, but there is some evidence that he intended to do so and applied for it in December 2017.
As you might know, in Ukraine it is not possible to have dual citizenship, and therefore obtaining a passport of another state is a reason for losing Ukrainian citizenship, which for Deputy, such as Oleksandr Dubinsky, may be the reason for deprivation of a deputy mandate.
