PJSC Ukrnafta waived the requirement worth ₴6.5 million in penalties from Oil Refinery Complex Galychyna for the official supply of oil gas. This was reported in the amicable agreement, approved by decision of by the Economic Court of Lviv region.
According to enkorr, on November 20, 2019, Ukrnafta filed a lawsuit against Oil Refinery Complex Galychyna to recover the debt of ₴65.3 million for oil gas deliveries for the period from November 2018. The company demanded repayment of ₴58.8 million in net debt and ₴6.5 million in penalties and other penalty clauses. Following nine days, on November 29, Oil Refinery Complex Galychyna repaid its basic debt of ₴58.8 million.
Thereafter, the parties agreed to enter into the amicable agreement under which Ukrnafta voluntarily waived its claim for penalties of ₴6.5 million due to the payment of the basic debt. According to the court documents, the debt arose in pursuant of the gas supply agreement in October 2018. About 20,6 million cubic meters remained unpaid.
Under the contract, the price for “oil vacuum lean gas” was ₴2845 per 1,000 cubic meters including VAT, which is almost three times lower than the price for natural gas. Oil gas is used to replace diesel in some industries. It is also pumped into the oil reservoirs for intensifying oil production.
PJSC Oil Refinery Complex Galychyna operates the Drohobych Refinery. The controlling stake in Galychyna belongs to the companies affiliated with Privat Group. The State Property Fund of Ukraine owns 25% of the company shares.
