Kostiantyn Kovalenko has been holding the post of the judge of the Baryshiv district court of Kyiv region since 2004. In 2008, the terms of his office were prolongated to an indefinite period of time.

He was disciplined at the end of the zero years for violating the law when considering a corporate conflict and got reprimanded.

Kostiantyn Kovalenko is known for his decision that banned Kateryna Rozhkova, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank, to carry out her duties. The case was fabricated as a civil lawsuit from one local resident of Baryshevka to another, where they argued over Rozhkova’s statements and their credibility in a small blog. His ruling was later overturned by the Appeal. Ihor Kolomoisky, in turn, said he welcomed the decision of the Baryshev court to ban First Deputy Governor of the National Bank Kateryna Rozhkova from taking part in board meetings and performing her duties. The oligarch added that he would welcome such a decision by any court — «until Carthage is destroyed.«

Kovalenko also unlawfully ordered a judicial expertise in a criminal case regarding Kotlas LLC stealing Ukrnafta’s (an asset of Ihor Kolomoisky) funds. He likewise tried to cover his deals with a fictitious civil claim by local residents.

On January 15, 2020, the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice decided to launch a disciplinary case concerning Kostiantyn Kovalenko’s decision on the complaint filed by the National Bank.
